SaskPower Updates – Wood Pole Maintenance Program

SaskPower contractors are inspecting wood poles throughout the province this spring, summer, and fall. Additionally, they will conduct ground grid testing on rural overhead transformers to ensure ground conductors and other electrical equipment is functioning safely and reliably. They will also install wildfire protection on poles in high-risk areas in the north. No power outages are necessary for this work.

While crews strive to stay within the SaskPower right-of-way, they may occasionally need to access private property. Contractors will be easily identifiable by their high-visibility clothing, identification cards, and company-branded vehicles.

The contractor for this work is Central Pole Inspections and Maintenance Inc. The approximate schedule for your area is noted on the wood pole maintenance information sheet. They’ve also included information about biosecurity and power lines.
